This week we head off for our first few miles on the Arizona National Scenic Trail, which runs for 800 miles across Arizona (from Mexico to Utah).
Recently, we shared a little with you per our food resupply strategy and some great products provided to us by vendors such as FBomb, Justins, Guayaki, Maruchan, Mooncheese, Nicks Sticks and Patagonia Provisions.
In this post, we’ll share with you some of the gear which we will use on this thru-hike (a lot of which we used this past Summer on our bicycle ride from AZ to CO and again on our thru-hike of the 486 mile Colorado Trail). Where possible, we’ll provide Amazon links for this gear (we are a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program).
We will be using 2 Sawyer Squeeze‘s and hoping for good luck with water sources along the way.

And don’t forget, we are doing some fundraising for the Humane Society while on this hike also, so if you can, please support our hike and the great work that the Humane Society does by going here. You can pledge as little as 5¢ per mile and pay your full donation when we finish the AZT. 90% of your donation will go directly to the Humane Society and the remaining 10% will help support the Arizona Trail Association.
